Junior Friends of Savannas competition winners

The Junior Friends of Savannas participated and won the county division in the Indian River Lagoon Regional Envirothon Competition in February 2014. They are off to the State competition in May. No? Here's one solution: The Savannas Preserve State Park will host a guided interpretive walk through pristine Florida wetlands on Saturday, May 17th from 9:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. The pubic in encouraged to come and explore the wild side of the park and enjoy its natural wonders. Adventure awaits participants as they go off the beaten trail with an experienced guide. Too often, wetlands are misunderstood and undervalued. This program facilitates an understanding of the roles that wetlands play in natural systems, as well as how they benefit people. Due to higher than normal water levels, participants can expect wet and muddy conditions, with water easily up to knee level. A hat, long pants and closed-toe shoes are highly recommended.
