Mad Scientists Invade State Park Savannas Preserve State Park -Fun, educational programming for the whole family- Jensen Beach, FL - Mad Scientists are running amuck at the Savannas Education Center this summer! Youngsters ages 5-10 are invited to come and enjoy some fun with these crazy chemists. They'll be exploring Radical Reactions on Saturday, June 21st at 11:00a.m. This engaging program is sponsored by the Junior Friends of Savannas (JFOS), a group of dynamo teen volunteers. The program promises to be both entertaining and educational. Participants will get down and dirty in the lab with some hands-on fun of their own. Cost for the program is $3 per child plus park admission fee. Space is limited and reservations are required. Don't miss out on the science fun! Pines and Pioneers - Partners in Florida History -An interpretive Ranger Program for the whole family- Jensen Beach, FL – From telephone poles to medicine, turpentine to basketry, the humble pine tree has played a part of human culture for millennia. The Savannas Preserve State Park invites you to come learn more at Pines and Pioneers: Partners in Florida History, an interpretive Ranger program offered Saturday, June 28th at 9:00a.m.. Participants will get a close-up look at Florida pine species and learn about their roles in Florida history. This program is free with paid park admission. Frog Watch: Record the Ribbit! At Savannas Preserve State Park -A Citizen Science Opportunity- Jensen Beach, FL – Saturday, July 5th; 7-9pm The Savannas Preserve State park invites you to become a citizen scientist for a night! Join us Saturday, July 5th at 7:00pm for Frog Watch, a program designed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to help increase knowledge about amphibian populations. Participants will meet some of our local frog and toad friends, then collect real data for a national database. This data is critical to the design of conservation strategies for declining amphibian species. Frog Watch is a great excuse to get outside, learn something new AND give back at the same time. Be sure to bring your listening ears! Identification is all done by sound. Come on out to your local state park and get involved. These amphibians need your help! Meet the Super Heroes of Savannas Preserve State Park

Meet the Super Heroes of Savannas Preserve State Park Jensen Beach, FL – The Savannas Preserve State Park will debut Super Heroes of Savannas, an interactive children's program on Saturday, June 28th at 10:00a.m. Children ages 4-7 will delight in this newly created program, specially designed to introduce little ones to two of Savannas iconic species: the humble gopher tortoise and the misunderstood American alligator. Designed in partnership between the Savannas Preserve State Park and the Florida Master Naturalist Program, Super Heroes of Savannas engages children through a recipe of stories, games and crafts.
